IRWD 2014 Poster Contest Winner Featured on Metropolitan Web Site

Grace Jung, a Stonegate Elementary School student, has her art work from 2014 featured on www.bewaterwise.com. The art work will be featured this week and is part of Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s “Water Through the Eyes of our Youth” conservation posters from all over the region.

Grace was a third grader when she submitted her poster in 2013 to IRWD for judging. Hers was one of about 200 posters submitted and the IRWD team judging the posters selected five, which were sent to Metropolitan for judging in the regional contest. Grace’s poster was one of 36 selected to appear in the 2014 Water is Life calendar.

IRWD has participated in the contest for more than 20 years and has at least one winner each year. Posters are submitted from schools in the Irvine Unified, Tustin Unified and Saddleback Unified school districts.

All of the winning posters from this year’s contest will be on display in the IRWD lobby June 23-July 1 as part of the traveling Student Art Exhibit. The art show will feature IRWD’s current winner, Ashley Lee, whose poster was published on the 2015 Water is Life calendar.
