As a service to our customers we feature a calendar of IRWD and community events on our site. Events or activities of community-wide interest may be included in the community calendar. We reserve the right to edit submissions and include only those items of most interest to the public. Back to Natives Restoration
BACK TO NATIVES RESTORATION is a non-profit, volunteer organinzation for those interested in the restoration and conservation of Orange County's wildlands. Back to Natives assists in the recovery of Orange County's biodiversity through the restoration of open spaces, and the development of habitat gardens. Families Forward
Serving the community since 1984, Families Forward's mission is to help families in need achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through housing, counseling, education and other support services. Help support these families through financial donations as well as food donations. Grocery and gas gift cards are also needed. Donations can be brought to Families Forward office Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm or Friday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families Forward offices are located at 8 Thoms in Irvine, between Alton and Bake, off Muirlands. Inside the Outdoors
INSIDE THE OUTDOORS, a leader in hands-on science and social studies programs since 1974, is a unique environmental education program administered by the Orange County Department of Education. Their mission is to empower students, teachers, parents and the community to explore natural areas and expand their knowledge of the outdoors. The curriculum created for Inside the Outdoors' programs is aligned with California Science and Social Science standards and allows students to interact with these concepts in a real-world setting. Irvine Fine Arts Center
The mission of the Irvine Fine Art Center, located at 14321 Yale Avenue, Irvine 92604, is to build community awareness of the value and function of the arts in our culture. The Irvine Museum
Dedicated to the preservation and display of California art of the Impressionist Period (1890-1930), The Irvine Museum is embracing a principal role in the education and furtherance of this beautiful and important regional variant of American Impressionism that has come to be associated with California and its remarkable landscape. The number one priority of Master Gardeners of Orange County is to provide residents of Orange County with up-to-date, practical and sound gardening advice that they can use. Newport Bay Conservancy
NEWPORT BAY CONSERVANCY is a volunteer-driven, community-based organization and non-profit corporation dedicated to: preserving and restoring the ecosystems of Upper Newport Bay educating the public about the ecological value of the Bay and its watershed and helping ensure compatible public use. Shadetree Partnership
Shadetree Partnership is a volunteer organization that promotes more liveable communities through the planting and stewardship of shade trees. Shadetree Partnership sponsors volunteer events at its nursery on Anteater Drive on the University of California, Irvine campus. Stop and Swap Program
Created by The Irvine Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centerrece this program is designed to help the county reduce its cost of disposing of materials which cannot be safely disposed of with regular trash, such as paint, batteries, pesticides, pool chemicals, etc. Stop and Swap now allows residents to pick up usable materials which other residents have dropped off. "Swapping" helps residents reduce and reuse materials, helping to keep landfills, and ultimately our water supplies, free of hazardous wastes. For more information call 714-834-6752.
Toastmasters International
The general public is invited to visit a meeting or join the Toastmasters International "Water Meeters" Club #6492.
